Historical Movie Night in Carate
Saturday, June 13th 2009, “Movie Night in Carate”.
Historical, it never happened before: we started a movie time in the local store of Carate.
The organizers of this event were Alison, a young photographer from the United States, and Patricio artist and graphic designer from Chile and resident in New York. About 20 people attended the movie night, many of them gold-diggers of the local gold seeker community as well as foreigners living in the area. The show started with a short video called ´Discovering Carate´, made of a beautiful set of pictures combined with extraordinary music; it was exciting! The show was breathtaking and emotional; everybody was touched by the pictures about the beauty of this remote area, the people and the nature.
After this precious gift the couple showed a movie called ´Maria Full of Grace´. During the break everybody had cookies and drinks. Patrick, who is resident in this area and raises exotic birds in Agua Buena shared his experience with a beautiful video about African culture and nature.
It was a dream: ´travelling´ from a little spot on the Osa Peninsula called Carate to the Serengeti in Africa.
Thanks to all the people that made this movie night possible; special thanks to Alison and Patricio for their efforts and time, and to Glen and Daisy who shared their place and gave us the chance to enjoy the 1st historical movie night in Carate.
