The Osa Peninsula, is the third most important place for the sea turtles. At the beaches of La Leona Eco Lodge are found four of the seven species of turtles worldwide. The most common one is the Olive-Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea). During this tour you will receive information about the types of turtles which come to the beaches of the South Pacific of Costa Rica, as well as the biology of the sea turtles, the evolution, morphology, migration, reproduction and conservation, among others aspects. This tour intends to educate, promote and inform the guests about the importance of the protection of the sea turtles in their ecosystem. Sea turtles are in danger of extinction and it is our responsibility to support the survival of the turtles by educating the local communities and tourists. Moreover we want to support the local protection and conservation program. We want to share the fantastic experience with you admiring these antique and wonderful animals!
